Howdy! I am one of the AG teachers at Clear Brook High School. Just to let you know a little bit about me...
I graduated from Texas A&M in 2008 with a degree in Agricultural Science and education. I started teaching at Clear Creek High School for a year then came to Clear Brook in 2009. I was a member of the Friendswood FFA chapter as a high school student and had experience in raising Red Brangus heifers, swine, broilers and goats. I didn't grow up on a farm and knew nothing about agriculture as a freshman in high school. I was accidently put into an AG class...that mistake grew into to a passion for agriculture and the FFA. I love to teach AG and couldn't imagine my life any different. I try to instill leadership in everyone of my students, as I believe this is a key ingredient to success. I want all my students to be educated on the importance of agriculture in our daily lives.
The classes that I will be teaching this year are:
Floral Design Adv. Animal Science Principles of Agriculture
Clear Brook AG classes are designed to be a hands-on learning environment. Examples of activities we do in our classes:
Field Trips to Houston rodeo - Artificial Insemination of Cattle - Di-sections Dog washes Surgical techniques - Propagation of plants - Planting Crops - Making butter & ice cream - Hunter Education
Daily care of small animals: ferrets, guinea pigs, fish, sugar gliders, gerbals and dogs.
PLUS MUCH MORE!!!
